BASICS

Son of Uriel and a mortal woman ().
"Spellsword"; he's skilled with swords, can wear armor on the light-ish end, and is very skilled with magic. He's better than most humans, but can't compete with severely specialized ones. When compared to other half-born people, he's also weaker than dedicated mages and not as durable as dedicated knights.
He's very skilled at panting and singing (as Uriel is the angel of the arts), but doesn't like sculpting or clothwork much. It's just not enjoyable for him.
He learned his swordplay and manifestation (wings, armor, sword) from his father. Lucifer taught him how to use magic. He summons his sword from his hands, and the fire flickers across him to summon his armor. His wings simply tear their way out of his back (in a goreless fashion that leaves his clothing mended once they vanish).
His table manners are nearly impeccable. He still messes up, being a young boy, but his mother taught him how to be graceful and so he does his best to be.

PERSONALITY

Vanyel is friendly and cheerful, though his voice tends to usually be pretty even and calm. He likes people, he likes being around them, and he likes having friends or doing group activities.
He's also okay with being alone, though, and is fairly good at finding ways to amuse himself. He vastly prefers being with others, though.
His language is quite coarse. If he gets agitated or upset, not only his does volume rise sharply, but he begins to curse as well, sometimes severely.
He loves his father more than anything, and gets very agitated and angry when his father's honor is called into question.
He's blunt when he wants to be and can be somewhat rude because of it, but he doesn't mean any harm unless he outright dislikes someone.
He protects everyone that he can protect, and helps who he can.

WORLD

Lucifer is still one of the most beloved angels. He didn't fall from grace; in fact, the Archangels and God still adore him. Lucifer willingly left to rule over Hell so that he would be responsible for the unpleasant job of watching over evil or cruel souls while the others could remain in the comfort of Heaven. Because of this, though human stories paint him/Satan as evil, he is still highly regarded in heaven (and is a firm, but loving, man himself).
God is almost always sleeping. This isn't because he's sealed or anything: having his tangible form asleep makes it far easier for him to hear the prayers of humans, especially with how many prayers that are made to him. Metatron acts as his voice in this regard, listening to God's dreams and relaying any messages to the other archangels as needed.
While the archangels are perfectly capable of fighting solo, they do regularly pair up to deal with worse threats and have no qualms accepting help. However, if all four are going at once, something deeply wrong and horrible has happened.
